Cat nails grow surprisingly fast. Even with a scratchpad at home, they still require a nail trim and pawpad shave every month.
Cats have a very thick double-coat, shedding fur every day and more during hot weather. Weekly brushing helps reduce shedding at home.
In our hot & humid climate, ears need cleaning once a month on average. Folded-ear breeds (like the Scottish Fold) need weekly cleaning to avoid infections.
Shaving the hygiene area regularly prevents stains around the house. Long hair breeds need a monthly shave; others do fine every 2�3 months.
Most cats are fairly clean and a dry bath usually suffices. It's a good idea to occasionally send your cat for a shower, so they're used to it as they age.
For some breeds, fur grows continuously (much like human hair). Most breeds require a haircut once a month to stay cute & fluffy.
