Guinea Pigs
Gentle, careful grooming for one of the most easily stressed pets we see our groomers take extra time and patience with every guinea pig.
Guinea pig nails grow continuously and can curl painfully if left untrimmed. A nail trim every 4-6 weeks keeps them comfortable and walking normally.
Guinea pigs shed moderately year-round, a little more during seasonal changes. Regular brushing helps reduce loose fur at home.
Ears should be checked and gently cleaned periodically, especially in our humid climate, to avoid wax build-up or infection.
Guinea pigs (especially males) have a grease/scent gland near the rump that can build up oil and debris if not cleaned regularly.
Guinea pigs need a bath at every grooming session to properly clean their scent glands, though we keep the process quick and gentle since they can be prone to stress and chills.
Short-haired breeds (like American or Abyssinian) rarely need trims. Long-haired breeds (like Peruvian or Silkie) need regular haircuts to stay tangle-free.
We groom small pets in a dedicated room, away from dogs, ensuring a calm and stress-free environment for your guinea pig.
